On Australia Day, Council presented the Local Citizen of the Year Awards to members of the community.

Our club president, Dean Simes, was honoured with Ku-ring-gai Local Citizen of the Year. “At the age of 102 years, Dean has called Ku-ring-gai home for more than 50 years. Dean is the President of Computer Pals for Seniors in Turramurra. His passion and commitment to promoting digital literacy among seniors have transformed lives in our community. Dean served our country during the Second World War and later had a distinguished career in the mining industry. After retiring, Dean embraced lifelong learning by attending TAFE to study computer technology, which laid the foundation for his leadership at Computer Pals. Beyond these achievements, Dean is constantly involved in community life, contributing to organisations such as Probus, bowling, tennis, and music groups. His commitment to health and community engagement continues through his active participation in a local gym.” – https://www.krg.nsw.gov.au/Community/Local-Citizen-of-the-Year-Awards
Bill, Dorothy and Maria from CPST attended the Ku-ring-gai Council Australia Day celebrations at Knox school in the morning. Bill said this is a great achievement and I can think of no more worthy person to be awarded this honour than Dean. He has done so much and achieved a great deal – and not just with CPST.
